The Lamb His Sheep Redeems

Words: Robert Loretz
Music: Robert Loretz
This hymn is especially good for the Easter Season from Easter Sunday until Pentecost but can also be used in Ordinary time, especially for Good Shepherd Sunday or when the readings focus on Christ as the Lamb of God (for example in Advent or at the beginning of the year). The words focus on Christ as Lamb, Shepherd and Gate, who redeems His people and who is present to them especially in the Word and the Eucharist from His Ascension until He comes again. There are references to the encounter at Emmaus, Christ's eternal priesthood exercised from heaven and the Wedding Feast of the Lamb at the end of time.
