Christ The Lord Has Ascended High (Ascension Chorus)

Words: Robert Loretz
Music: Traditional Gregorian Chant
This is a hymn written especially for the time between Ascension and Pentecost, celebrating the Eternal Priesthood of Christ, exercised from heaven, thanks to His ascension in the Body. From heaven, Christ intercedes for us until the end of time, by showing His once and for all sacrifice to the Father, via the glorified wounds permanently present in His risen Body. The mu sic is taken from the Liber Usualis, as the hymn in the vespers for the feast of the Holy Family. It has a beautiful lilt and flow due to the placement of the two note slurs throughout.
