Soul of Christ

This is two part round. It could be sung first time through in unison so that the words are clearly heard and then repeated in two parts. if done this way then the repeat should happen before the "Amen, Alleluia", which should be saved for the end. The second part starts a bar later than the first and they end together with the coda: "Amen, Alleluia". The words are a wonderful Eucharistic poem that days back to the early 14th century, and which was popularised by St. Ignatius Loyola, The prayer seeks the full blessing and protection from Christ and the graces He won at the cross.

Soul of Christ be my sanctification,
Body of Christ be my salvation,
Blood of Christ fill all my veins,
water from the side of Christ wash out my stains,
Passion of Christ my comfort be,
O Good Jesus listen to me! In Thy wounds I fain would hide,
N'er to be parted from Thy side,
Guard me should the foe assail me,
Call me when my life shall fail me,
Bid me come to Thee above
with Thy saints to sing Thy love.

(last time:) Amen, Alleluia!
