Rosary Hymns

Words: Robert Loretz
Music: Traditional
These hymns are intended to complement the praying of the rosary. There is one verse to be sung before each mystery, which recalls the essence of the mystery. The music chosen reflects the spirit of the mysteries. The joyful mysteries use the theme from "O Come, O come Emmanuel", a traditional chant; the Luminous use the melody from "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence", a traditional French melody; the Sorrowful mysteries use the melody of "O Sacred Head Surrounded", from Bach's St Matthew' Passion; and the Glorious use the tune from "O Filii et Filiae", a traditional Easter chant.
